All Photos and Videos by Tom
Judy Little invited Tom Mattson to be a guest at her class’s 50th reunion in 2011 at Giant’s Ridge. He in turn was accompanied by a state-of-the-art pocket camera. This blog shows the video segments that his nearly-candid camera captured.
Meanwhile, Judy and many others urged Tom to write stories while he ventured forth around the world. He’s now published two books and promised his sister Mary (Class of ’61) that he might write a third book only when and if he reaches the age of 89 (“but it will be a skinny book”).
Many Biwabik alumni or their spouses have written reviews of Tom’s books on Amazon or on the Reader Reviews page of this website. They include Margaret Schley, Ron and Betty Anzelc, Denny Hogan, Jim Moeller, Charlotte Leif, Bonnie Setnicker, Jerry Newton and David Setnicker.
And a video review by best-selling author Jack Canfield of The Other Worlds can be played on the opening page of this website. Jack was a creator of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series that now numbers over 250 books.
The Shereks and Mattsons are featured in The Other Worlds at pages 236-242, with other Biwabik family names like the Nopolas, Licaris and Holmstroms highlighted. A plug for migration concludes that story.
